National Workforce Development Fund (NWDF)

As announced in the commonwealth budget, the NWDF will provide $558m over four years to support training and workforce development.

In the coming twelve months, $150m will be available, including $75m under existing arrangements for the Critical Skills Investment Fund (Utilities, construction, mining – excluding service sectors) and $75m from the NWDF.

Aged care ($25m) and construction ($25m) are priority sectors for the NWDF $75m. This leaves $25m from NWDF to support enterprise needs across all industries nationally. The 11 National Industry Skills Councils will administer this remaining $25m (approx. $2m each) through an online application and selection process.

Online applications are expected to open in coming weeks.
